More Izalco
I have many pictures of the volcano Izalco. I don’t know why I keep bothering to carry my camera every time I go to climb the volcano.
Last Friday I climbed Izalco for the 7th time. I tried to make an effort to take some pictures of stuff on the volcano that I haven’t taken many pictures of before. Things like the red and yellow coloring on the rocks. I have some pictures of them, but I haven’t made a big effort to get some good pictures.
One thing that I’ve done the last two times that I was on Izalco was carry my flashes and make an effort to light somebody with my off-camera lights. I got a decent picture of Patrick, but it isn’t anything really amazingly spectacular.
I had an idea for an interesting picture that would involve off camera lights, but I needed a model, (preferably an adult human male), and also two other people for voice activated light stands. I have been having problems finding a willing model. Any volunteers?
One picture that I did get that I’m happy with is a panorama of the top ridge of the volcano crater.
(Please click on the picture to view it better. Trust me, it looks much better when viewed larger.)
I had tried several times before to get a panorama of the top of the crater, but never got something that I was happy with. I did quite a bit of editing for this one; I tried several different crops, did the black and white conversion, added contrast, adjusted levels, and also did a lot of burning (darkening) in the clouds. I’m thinking about getting a print made of it.
This time climbing the volcano was probably the easiest time every for me. I didn’t tire out as quickly for some reason, which was nice. Climbing it was was Arlynn and I, Loncho, Patrick, Kenny, their visitor Lloyd, Mark Yoder, and Joe who was visiting him. Lloyd had a hard time of it. He was always way behind us. He did make it back to the top of Cerro Verde though, and didn’t have to be carried up, so I guess that counts for surviving the hike.
I do believe that supper is nearly ready. We will be eating outside, since its pretty warm in here, and much cooler out there.
