Work and play
Today I worked. Last weekend I played. I’m tired.
Last weekend we had a reunion of the great cbs 3rd termers of 2007. We had a small group, but we had good times. I had very little sleep all weekend. We did things like play volleyball in an extremely warm gym, went canoeing, tried to kill a snapping turtle, sang some of our chorus songs, and played some extreme games of pick-up-sticks.
Anyways. I did some manual labor today out in the hot sun, and anyways, I will just say that I have had better days. I very nearly roasted. It didn’t help any that I left Harrison (where the reunion was held) this morning at about 12:30am, and had about two hours drive before I got to bed. Then after about three hours of sleep I got up to go work.
It is now nearing the time that I should go to bed. I’m really looking forward to a nice comfortable bed. I’m very very tired. I do want to post some pictures that I took last month, and uploaded recently.
One evening I was hanging out with my good friend Caleb Mast. We dug out his Dad’s lens and played with them some. Stuff like the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 IS, and the 600mm f/4 IS. And a 2x and 1.4x teleconverters. We are talking some amazing glass here. We didn’t have anything really to shoot, so we just messed around. We did find some horses. The light was about gone before we found them though.
BTW a 600mm f/4 IS lens is very heavy. I hand held it some, but depended heavily on a nice big tripod.
Here is Caleb with his Canon 20D and the 400 f/2.8 IS lens.
We grabbed some shots of the Amish that were driving past occasionally.
And here are some horse shots.
BTW I used a Canon 1Ds (the first version of that model) to take these pictures. It felt “solid.”
I have some pictures uploaded of Lake Cumberland, but I don’t have time tonight to do the post, so check again in the next few days for those pictures.
Goodnight, and God bless,
-Aaron
